A Word from the Director

The Higher School of Food Science and Agri-Food Industries was established by Executive Decree No. 17-81 of 18 Jumada al-Awwal 1438, corresponding to February 15, 2017. This decree transformed the Preparatory School of Natural and Life Sciences in Algiers into the Higher School of Food Science and Agri-Food Industries.

Created with the ambition of establishing a leading institution specializing in food science and agri food industries in the heart of the Mitidja region, the school is unique in Algeria due to the breadth of its academic programs and the high level of expertise it brings together in these fields.

The primary mission of the school is to train professionals equipped with multidisciplinary,theoretical and practical skills capable of contributing effectively to Algeria’s diverse agri-food sectors.

The institution is committed to delivering high-quality education in food science and agri-food engineering, thereby providing the national agri-food industry with strong technical and scientific support.

Admission is based on a national recruitment process open to holders of the baccalaureate in the “Experimental Sciences” “Mathematics” or “Mathematical Techniques” streams, with a grade point average meeting the minimum requirements set annually by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS). The student body includes learners from various Algerian wilayas as well as from abroad, fostering a diverse and dynamic academic environment.

Through this selective process, the school ensures high-quality training across all areas of food science. It offers an intellectually stimulating learning environment with a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs. Students may choose from several academic specializations aligned with their Personal and Professional Project (P.P.P.). Graduates of the school demonstrate strong knowledge, skills, and competencies, ensuring excellent employability and career readiness.
